WHAT'S NEXT FOR 9 MOBILE? 5 KEY AREAS TO FOCUS ON FOR 2019

Reports have been circulating recently that the sale of Emerging Markets Technology Services (EMTS), operators of 9 Mobile, to Teleology Limited which became the preferred-bidder consortium after the network was put up for sale as a result of its default on a $1.2b loan from a syndicate of Nigerian banks.

Having now received the required Letter of No Objection from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) approving the transaction, it has also been reported that the interim Board appointed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to manage EMTS’s affairs until completion of the sale has been dissolved and a new, substantive Board appointed.
